Albracket.com was founded by basketball enthusiast, Steve Howard who, like countless others, eagerly filled out a bracket and felt the excitement building as the opening weekend approached, only to witness their and others’ brackets crumble due to unexpected upsets and surprise Cinderella teams. Albracket.com is a website that runs in conjunction with the traditional bracket format but offers a distinct scoring system. Instead of choosing the winners of specific matchups, players select the seeds they believe will perform the best against the other three seeds on the same level. The website’s origin story can be traced back to its creator’s law firm, but it has since expanded into the platform it is today.
